Head of Marketing, Asia

German Entrepreneurship Asia is an innovation services provider specialized in building collaboration structures between governments, corporates, investors, and startups in the innovation ecosystems of Asia and Europe. We focus on facilitating global market expansion for startups, in order to develop them into internationally recognized and successful ventures. We are responsible for the execution of German Accelerator within Asia, a program funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) to empower high-potential German startups to discover and access markets in this region. We also offer Scaler8, a tailored service for Singapore startups and small-medium enterprises to explore, prepare and access Germany.

We are looking for a dynamic and creative Head of Marketing, Asia to be based in Singapore. Working closely with the Asia Management Team as well as our various Program Teams and reporting to the Global Head of Marketing, you will have the task of developing the regional marketing strategy, design and implement high-impact marketing campaigns to raise the awareness of German Entrepreneurship Asia and its brands, generate leads, and help to build relationships with clients and ecosystem partners within Asia (Southeast Asia, China, India, Japan, and South Korea).


The Role

  • Develop and execute a holistic regional marketing strategy to create awareness and generate interest among the target audiences in Asia and Germany
  • Oversee all of German Entrepreneurship Asia’s marketing efforts and drive effectiveness of marketing campaigns across multiple channels (PR, websites, social media channels, digital advertising, newsletters, events, etc.)
  • Enrich relationships with existing partners and seek out opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships within the region
  • Implement processes and feedback mechanisms to measure marketing effectiveness and loop learnings back into the regional and global leadership team
  • Be responsible for managing and reporting the team’s marketing budget for German Entrepreneurship Asia and its brands
  • Lead the regional marketing team and be responsible for performance management and reviews for direct reports
  • Be the key advisor and advocate for marketing to the Asia Management Team and respective Program Teams  and optimize German Entrepreneurship Asia’s marketing efforts across its various brands 
  • Work collaboratively with the global marketing team (across Germany and the U.S.) to share/implement marketing best practices from/in the Asia region
  • Content: Drive the Asia-related brands’ content strategy, by developing a pipeline and amplifying thought leadership content across owned/earned/paid channels
  • Media Relations: Build strong relationships with top tech and business media in Asia, and deliver interesting media pitches and secure media interviews
  • Partnerships: Create and execute a marketing partnership strategy and engagement plan, which includes building new partners within the Asian and German innovation ecosystems, and leveraging existing partnerships to increase awareness and preference for GEA’s services
  • Events: Oversee German Entrepreneurship Asia’s overall events strategy, across external, sponsored, and owned events
  • CRM: Enhance and provide a strategic approach to the CRM systems  to maximize its use – growing and managing contact databases, deal pipelines, and distribution lists for acquisition campaigns, event invitations, and other general newsletters
  • Analytics and budgeting: Measure outcome off your program portfolio and plan and manage your regional Marketing budget
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as required

  • Immersed in the startup, entrepreneur, and innovation ecosystems in Singapore/Asia/Germany


  • At least 12-15 years of experience in B2B marketing
  • Demonstrates a range of marketing skills, from strategic thinking to creative and execution
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English in a business context
  • Ability to speak/read German is a bonus
  • Degree from a reputable educational institution in Marketing, Business, or equivalent
