On Saturday, January 29, 2023, Argentina and Germany signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the intent to strengthen economic and energy relations. Part of this is the expansion of the startup support program German Accelerator to Argentina as a gateway to South American markets.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was accompanied by a large business delegation led by Dr. Franziska Brantner, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action, on his trip to Argentina, emphasized the relevance of startups as key stakeholders. The delegation announced the strategic decision to roll out German Accelerator programs in the region starting this year with a focus on sustainable energy production. For this, German Accelerator will open a new office in Buenos Aires.
“Argentina is a land of opportunities in South America. With its highly-skilled tech talent and a unique entrepreneurial spirit, we see great synergies with Germany and look forward to connecting Argentina with like-minded German startups.”
