What Kickstart Participants Say
You Have the Questions We Have the Answers
01
How Can I Apply to the Program?
To apply, simply follow the instructions in the application form. After submission, our team will review your application and get in touch with next steps.
02
Who Is Eligible to Join?
The program supports German startups (pre-seed to seed) of all stages and industries who have an interest in expansion and growth.
Startups incorporated in Germany are accepted into the Kickstart program. For startups which are not yet incorporated in Germany, in order to participate, the startup must be based in Germany AND fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Have received EXIST funding
- Be referred by a local partner/multiplier that is affiliated with the EXIST network
03
Who Should Join the Kickstart Program?
The Kickstart program is ideal for startups with scalable solutions and global market potential.
Applicants should be planning to scale within the EU and/or globally, have a product in the process of achieving product-market fit, and have completed a seed or series "A" funding round.
At minimum, startups should have a clear understanding of their customer segments and an initial product release (or pilot).
04
What Are the Program Costs?
Participation in the Kickstart program is fully funded, meaning there are no direct costs to startups and no equity taken. This is made possible through funding provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
05
What is the on-site day?
At Kickstart, we highly value the peer-to-peer effect and the potential of in-person networking.
That's why we organize a 1-day onsite as part of Kickstart, providing our startups with the opportunity to connect not only with fellow participants and our team, but also with our experts and speakers.
This onsite experience usually takes place at one of our partner's locations, comprising offline workshops throughout the day and a networking event in the evening.
Food and drinks are typically provided for the entire day, while travel and accommodation expenses have to be covered by the startups themselves.
Participation in the onsite day is mandatory, as it plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants.
