Build a Scalable, Global Business From Day One
Get the tools, knowledge, and network to build a startup that thrives in international markets.
The Scaling & Growth Program helps you develop clear, data-backed hypotheses to identify the right markets for your business.
Go global without costly mistakes
For companies looking to go global, uncertainty is the norm — and it often leads to wasted time, money, and momentum.
That’s where Kickstart - our Scaling & Growth Program – comes in. With the support of experienced mentors, practical tools, and strategic guidance, you’ll assess your startup’s readiness for international expansion and identify which market makes the most sense to explore first - all without pressure or cost.
The Scaling & Growth program consists of three, short and focused programs, each designed for a specific stage of your journey. Whether you're just starting to think globally, building your scaling foundation, or ready to find your new market - there’s a clear path for you.

Find Your Match
We have the exact program that matches your stage - so you get the right support at the right time.
The Global Mindset Activation
1 day
A high-energy, 1-day experience for founders who want to build something that matters beyond their local market.
Meet founders that successfully expanded to other markets. Connect with ambitious peers. Get practical insights into what international growth actually looks like - before you invest time or money in the wrong direction.
You’ll leave inspired, better connected, and clear on your next step toward global impact.
The Scaling Clarity
3 days
A hands-on bootcamp for founders who are serious about growth. If you have traction but feel the pressure to “grow up” as a company - sharpen your sales engine, prepare for funding, structure your team - this program helps you move faster and smarter.
You’ll leave with a stronger pitch, clearer positioning, a refined cap table strategy, leadership clarity, and a concrete action plan. Honest feedback, real operators, and the tools to scale with confidence.
The Global Expansion Strategy
3 days
For founders ready to decide on their next international steps, but determined to do it right. Instead of guessing which country to enter, you’ll systematically evaluate markets, design go-to-market hypotheses, and align your team and investors around a clear expansion plan.
By the end, you’ll know which markets to prioritize strategically and how you’ll enter them. You'll leave with a concrete internationalization strategy. You'll be ready to join our Market Discovery programs to explore your path.

What Kickstart Participants Say
You Have the Questions We Have the Answers
01
How Can I Apply to the Program?
To apply, simply follow the instructions in the application form. After submission, our team will review your application and get in touch with next steps.
02
Who Is Eligible to Join?
The program supports German startups (pre-seed to seed) of all stages and industries who have an interest in expansion and growth.
Startups incorporated in Germany are accepted into the Kickstart program. For startups which are not yet incorporated in Germany, in order to participate, the startup must be based in Germany AND fulfill at least one of the following criteria:
- Have received EXIST funding
- Be referred by a local partner/multiplier that is affiliated with the EXIST network
03
Who Should Join the Kickstart Program?
The Kickstart program is ideal for startups with scalable solutions and global market potential.
Applicants should be planning to scale within the EU and/or globally, have a product in the process of achieving product-market fit, and have completed a seed or series "A" funding round.
At minimum, startups should have a clear understanding of their customer segments and an initial product release (or pilot).
04
What Are the Program Costs?
Participation in the Kickstart program is fully funded, meaning there are no direct costs to startups and no equity taken. This is made possible through funding provided by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
05
What is the on-site day?
At Kickstart, we highly value the peer-to-peer effect and the potential of in-person networking.
That's why we organize a 1-day onsite as part of Kickstart, providing our startups with the opportunity to connect not only with fellow participants and our team, but also with our experts and speakers.
This onsite experience usually takes place at one of our partner's locations, comprising offline workshops throughout the day and a networking event in the evening.
Food and drinks are typically provided for the entire day, while travel and accommodation expenses have to be covered by the startups themselves.
Participation in the onsite day is mandatory, as it plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange among participants.
