Project Manager, Startup Advisor Life Sciences

German Accelerator Life Sciences works with companies in five segments: therapeutics, diagnostics, medical devices, digital health, and platform technologies. We are looking for a Startup Advisor in Germany based in Munich or Berlin who will be responsible for identifying and recruiting startups for all German Accelerator programs, but especially the Life Sciences program based in Cambridge/Boston. The successful candidate will help build our network and increase the program’s visibility in the German Life Sciences innovation ecosystem together with other members of the global Scouting team and in close collaboration with the Vice President Life Sciences in Germany as well as the Life Sciences team based in the US. He or she will report to the Head of Scouting.

Where We Need Your Skills and Support

• Identify high-potential life sciences startups through different scouting channels, get in touch, and provide initial mentoring to them
• Maintain relationships, advise on internationalization plans and regularly check for fit with our programs
• Design and organize suitable lead targeting initiatives as well as campaigns in close collaboration with our global marketing team
• Represent German Accelerator at relevant conferences / networking events and expand our existing network e.g. with investors, incubators, and accelerators
• Optimize your scouting funnel by measuring and reporting your progress
• Participate in the evaluation of companies and support our due diligence prior to acceptance of companies into the program
• Be an active part of German Accelerator‘s global scouting/life sciences team and help shape the team’s expertise and image as trusted startup advisors for scaling internationally

What the Ideal Candidate Looks Like

• You have a healthtech or life sciences background and a strong interest in working with startups and the innovation ecosystems throughout Germany
• You have at least three (3) years of entrepreneurial or innovation experience working for a healthtech or life science startup, or with early-stage healthtech or life science companies in an innovation capacity
• You understand the life sciences innovation process in Germany and/or the U.S. and have hands-on experience either in one of these ecosystems
• You have an academic background in a field of study related to life sciences
• You are an excellent team player with an outgoing personality and can quickly convince people of your expertise
• You are a fast thinker who enjoys analyzing startup’s business models and advising startups on how to build on what they have already accomplished while expanding internationally
• You have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, both in German and English
